Airbnb Styling - Worth it?

We have recently booked a massive trip to go and see family OS in 2023 - for anyone who has booked a massive OS trip you know the bloody stress. But you know what I spent most of my time doing - trowelling Airbnb, trying to find the perfect place. I wanted the right location, layout and the list goes on however even when some places ticked all the boxes if the styling wasn’t great I would simply scroll on.

And it got me thinking about just how vital it is for Airbnb hosts to invest in the styling of their properties. There are so many places available for people to stay, and some of them are beautiful however it is also important to make your stay unique in style. Make it somewhere people want to go back.

I have pulled together a few styling ideas below that would help take the styling of an ordinary old Airbnb to the next level.

1/ Great Bed Linen!

Adding Luxurious and considered Bed linen will uplift a space in an instant.

2/ Layered Decor

Adding layers of decoration such as stunning cushions, well-styled shelves, oversized rugs and throws elevates any space.

3/ Oversized, Fun Artwork

Most people don’t have the luxury of having great artwork in their home, so investing in a few pieces that make a statement will help your property ooze character and style.

4/ Splurge on seating

Think about how most people holiday. They will book activities, swim, walk, hike, and see the sites, but when they are in their accommodation they want to chill! So if the budget allows I would spend the money on deliciously stylish and comfortable seating.

5/ Lighting - Make it Layered

Please spend time thinking about the light fittings you are going to use but also the types of lighting you want. You need task lighting, but you also want ambient lighting to create mood and atmosphere. Getting your lighting right will take your property to the next level.

Hopefully, that has given you something to consider, as I definitely saw some Airbnb properties that were in dire need of a spruce-up. If it just feels too overwhelming and you’re stuck for time then get in contact and I can talk you through how I could help you!
