Pull handles I'm vibing right now.

Even as a Designer/ Decorator I find handles overwhelming and the reason that is, is that I absolutely believe they can make or break a kitchen or a beautiful piece of joinery or furniture. It can be an absolutely agonising task making this selection - the right size, shape, material. Do you want them to contrast, blend in? Are they a statement piece?

When you are picking hardware here are my key considerations;

  • Decide what impact you want them to have - statement, subtle, colour pop, subtle detail, practical and plain,

  • Ensure you have thought about the positioning and layout you would prefer them in.,

  • Have a short list of colours and materials and budget.,

  • See the handles on site and with the cabinetry if possible - so buy a couple of samples and see them onsite to ensure you are happy with the size and feel.

In the spirit of helping people find pull handles that are inspiring and do bring a bit of character to a space, here are a few I am loving at the moment!

1/ Sphere Appliance Pull Live Brass by Lo and Co 2/ Joseph Giles - COLLETT ZARZYCKI solid brass & marble door pull handle supplied by English Tapware Company 3/ ARTISAN Furniture Pull Up Bar / AP260 Gold & Walnut Wood 4/ MOANA WAVY TIMBER CABINET HANDLE by Handles House 5/ RONDURE in DUSTY OLIVE by Castella Handles 6/ Dot Marble Handle Viola Large by Lo and Co

The reason I love these handles at the moment is for their individuality, I wanted to highlight the ability to be quite playful and unique with your hardware and how it can dramatically change the feeling in a room. Now these certainly won’t be for everyone and yes these handles are pricey, but do they add a little something to a space 100%. Please remember not all handles need to be expensive either and if you have identified the nature of what you are trying to create with the handles you will still have lots of options to select from that will achieve your desired look.

Ultimately remember that when picking your handles - you are selecting the jewellery for your cabinetry. Use the hardware to help push the feeling and vibe you are trying to create. and if you do this you can’t go wrong.

Till next time - Keep dreaming, keep creating.

xx
